The Process

The Process
/ˈpräˌses,ˈprōˌses/
noun
A series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.

When it comes to creativity, the process is everything. A process is defined as “A series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end”. Most of the time the whole process is rarely ever seen. Most people only witness the finished product and not the steps that were taken to get there. Those steps are sometimes the most interesting and I wanted to share it with all of you.

The moment I was inspired to document my personal process, I approached my good friend and incredible videographer, Chad Ross, with a simple idea to showcase my process for you all. He was immediately in to it. We talked about what creative processes meant to him and the best way to display one through a video.

A few days prior to talking with Chad; I met with Alex Clark and a few other friends at the famers market, like we usually do on Sundays. We talked for a bit about her recent adventures and modeling work she’s done and naturally we started kick around some ideas of shooting some black and white portraits. I happened to have a few images on my phone that inspired me that I thought she might like. I showed her and she was sold. We set a date for that Friday to meet up and take some photos.

I was now starting the process. I had a model, a videographer, and the date was set. Everything that has happened up to this point is a small part of the process. What you’ll see below is a more detailed view of what happens during one of my sessions. What happens during the process and what the final step creates. Every process has some of the same key components, but unique on its own. I am proud to not only show you the finished photos but to show you: The Process.
